Join us to learn more about the use of Autonomous Recording Units (ARUs) to monitor grassland birds on working landscapes. Ashlyn will demonstrate application of passive acoustic monitoring on large scales using some of her own work monitoring grassland bird responses to habitat restoration in North Dakota.
Ashlyn Herron is a Ph.D student at the University of North Dakota and a Research Fellow with the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Hailing from the prairies of Alberta, Ashlyn’s passions for grassland ecosystems have guided her research, focused on understanding how habitat restoration influences grassland birds on working lands.
