This talk will give some highlights of over a decade of research on grassland bird ecology and conservation. The presentation will explain the remarkable mobility of these creatures, how and why they occur, and how they are fundamental to influencing their abundance and persistence.

Alice Boyle is a Professor at Western University in London Ontario (2025-present), having spent 13 years at Kansas State University previously. She studies both grassland and tropical birds, answering questions about migration and dispersal movements, and the consequences of rain for birds and other endotherms.
