Robert will share information about the Fort Peck Tribes buffalo quarantine program, and discuss the partners that made the transfers possible. We also give a brief history of the Fort Peck Tribes first proposal of the Buffalo Quarantine Facility, and mention the work that it currently does today.
Robert Magnan is the Fort Peck Tribes Fish and Game Director who specializes in buffalo conservation and is a consultant for other Tribal Organizations who have questions about making a quarantine facility a success. Robert has been doing work for buffalo conservation with the Fort Peck Tribes since 2000. The work he has done and the relationships he has created with Yellowstone National Park and Inter-tribal Buffalo Council has allowed the Fort Peck Tribes to quarantine buffalo in their facilities, and to transfer buffalo from Fort Peck to other Tribal Nations.
